It’s the weekend peaches! Today marks two glorious events – its our Queen’s “official” 90th birthday AND Ladies Day at the races! Now if you were to ask me which of these fabulous gatherings I love the most it would most definitely be the Queenie’s birthday.. I am a proud royalist through and through (don’t hate me!) which stems from my father being interested in history and the Royal Family when I was a child. She is just completely and utterly wonderful in every way – just like her mother before her (who I also loved and was so sad to see pass on.) In fact, I love most of the Royals and especially the simple yet elegant wardrobe of Catherine, The Duchess Of Cambridge.
Of course secondly, I love Ladies Day at the races! The mixture of the stunning race horses, the adrenaline pumped atmosphere and elaborate hats have always drawn me in. Any excuse to dress up. That’s me.
I recently saw an advert on Facebook entitled “Where did you get that bag” which had me intrigued. A further look discovered the most amazing range of crazy and unique bags from Vendula. The Ladies Day Grab Bag is a complete conversation starter and I can’t begin to thank Vendula enough for this wonderful review gift.
Vendula London unique bags – “Ladies Day Grab Bag”
Perfect for a full day out at the races, this bag has six separate compartments, a detachable and adjustable shoulder strap as well as compartments for your sunglasses and phone. Whenever I am covering events, performing at them or travelling I seem to have a habit of needing to carry the kitchen sink with me. I am lost without my MacBook and makeup bag amongst many other items (I am the one who always seems to have what you need in her bag.) The Vendula Ladies Day grab bag has amazing brass press-studs to expand the bag in a flash and make carrying all my favourite essentials that little bit easier. Faux leather, cotton, and brass make up the various components all of which are all very well made, high quality materials. The durable, excellent stitching means that this bag can also handle a bit of weight.
Although I am “forever a lady in heels” where possible – I always carry a pair of “back up pumps” in my bag if I can. I aim to avoid being one of those ladies who walk barefoot and carry their heels on a night out. I love that I managed to fit my “back up pumps” and a little cardigan in this bag as well as all my other regular necessities.
Today’s outfit came along with some very bright sunshine (never a bad thing) and my favourite pair of white patent Mary Jane’s. Trying to out-shine my glorious Ladies Day bag is my zesty lemon day dress paired with a cream organza petticoat. I made my fascinator myself a few years ago for a friends wedding. It is simply a sinamay teardrop hat base and some other crafty bits sourced from eBay! I prefer to make my own where I can – mainly because I can perfectly match a headpiece to an outfit that way as well as wearing something that nobody else in the room has on their head. It is perhaps a little understated for such an event as Ladies Day but I wanted to let my outfit do the talking and my Vendula bag definitely does that alright!
