When In Cyprus & A Bettylicious Bikini Review

I have just landed from a MAGNIFICENT holiday and break away with my family in Cyprus. My little girls first trip abroad! Firstly, a HUGE thanks you to all of you on my Instagram channel that messaged about how to cope on a plane with a three year old. ALL of your tips are always much appreciated! My little girl did wonderfully well on both flights. This of course made things easier for myself too as I am not great with planes.

The Cyprus holiday of Dreams!

My husband and I are five years married so we had booked to go back to the same area where we said our vows. This time, we took our family of three! Ayia Napa is a stunning part of Cyprus and I would recommend it whole-heartedly. It has a bad rep for “the clubbers strip” but we stayed at the opposite end. If you are interested, our hotel can be found here. For a family holiday, it is a perfect place to stay.

Glorious Green

Of course, when in such a beautiful country, you need a beautiful bikini right? Then is there a more perfect two-piece than this one? It is the Unique Vintage Forest Green Gilda Bikini available at Bettylicious! When it comes to swimwear, this year on the high street I have found zero choices. Absolute nada. With the recent 90’s craze, it is so tough to find anything with more material than the humble triangle.

The Gilda Bikini Bottoms have all the room I need. Generally, I like to size up on bottoms. I usually look for a size 12 if I can. This pair is a medium and I am in love with the forest green colour of them! They also have pockets. POCKETS! This is a game changer. There is room for the hotel key or my phone or even some euros for the swim up bar (coins only though!) I am secretly thanking whoever thought that pockets in swimwear would be fun.

Tough at the top!

Curves sometimes come with frustrations. Whenever I look at swimwear, I need the option to mix and match between sizes and styles. With more of an hourglass shape, I am not the “one size fits all” kinda body. Up top, I need something with support or the ability to adjust if needed. The Unique Vintage 1950s Style Mrs West Forest Green Halter Top is adjustable at the back. This means that you can pull the drawstring detail to fit you perfectly. It has a halter-neck design with supportive cups.

The halter-neck detail is great for a bigger bust!

For reference, I got the medium in both of these pieces. They fit great. I am a 34D bust but as you can tighten or loosen the drawstring pull at the back of this top, the medium is perfect. I love the slight cleavage and peephole front too. It is easy to let the straps down if you want to avoid tanning lines. It also dries super quick too.

I wore this set all day by the pool. This glorious bikini made an appearance at the kiddies Pirate Ship splash park. Casually, it sauntered around the hotel grounds as my little girl had her siesta. It even made a cheeky appearance at lunch. Feeling confident and comfortable is a match made in heaven.

If you buy one bikini this year…

Absolutely make it this gorgeous green two-piece. People buy swimwear for different reasons. Some prefer barely there mix and match pieces to ensure maximum tan-age. Others choose something that makes you feel fab and won’t disappear on the waterslide! Retro style bikini bottoms never used to appeal to me (read my previous review here.) But now, I won’t go on a holiday (or in a pool) without one. In a week or so, I am due to go to Benidorm (ok, I know not quite Cyprus but still – it is sunshine!) and this will be coming with me then and on many holidays to come!
